Know the story
A Swimwear Revolution
Rosie discovered that more than 500,000 women had given up swimming because of body image issues. She also found that half of all mums didn’t swim with their kids because of how they felt in swimwear. She realised that this lack of decent swimwear meant that women were missing out.
Rosie decided to solve the problem herself...
Airbrushed models, sexualised photoshoots, flimsy fabrics – we looked at everything we disliked about swimwear. We also asked you how you wanted to feel in your swimsuit or bikini.
Then, Rosie and a team of design experts started to develop a set of pieces that transformed how swimwear feels, looks and is made. Fabrics made from ocean waste, sustainable production, a ground-breaking sizing system – we started making beautiful swimwear based on a range of body shapes and sizes.
Rosie and her team created swimwear that doesn't compromise on style, substance or sustainability.

Doing good is good business
We're passionate about our purpose, people and planet. From recycled fabric and fair manufacture to making our swimwear last, our green credentials are core values at Deakin & Blue.
-
Our fabric is rubbish
Literally. All our swimwear is made from ECONYL® - a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from waste such as old fishing nets and industrial plastic.
-
Our workers are valued
The production studio that makes our swimwear is in London. It prides itself on premium craftsmanship in a safe working environment. We know the people who make our garments.
-
Our suppliers trade fairly
We work with Oeko-Tex® certified suppliers, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturers and partners who pay fairly, use chemicals safely and minimise waste where possible.
-
We make things to last
Good things stand the test of time (and tides, and salt water and so on). We use fabrics which are twice as resistant to chlorine, sun cream and oil as standard Lycra® to guarantee durability.
-
Packaging
We use 100% reusable and recyclable packaging materials to avoid harming the environment. Even our tissue paper uses soy-based ink and is printed on acid-free FSC® certified paper.

Giving back
We partner with organisations that share our values. All our swimwear comes with CoppaFeel! #BraHijack labels reminding you to check for signs of breast cancer, and we can customise any of our pieces (free of charge) to fit a post-mastectomy prosthetic. We partner with marine conservation organisations - donating our profits for beach and ocean clean-up activities.
