This cotton backpack features a cat motif and measures approx. 37cm at its widest and 36cm long. Adjustable back straps enable a secure fit, while a drawstring and toggle and velcro under the cat's head provide closure. Inside a zip pocket offers extra storage space, and the bag is machine-stitched in Nepal under fair trade conditions from 100% cotton fabric. Its cute, colorful design and roomy size make it a great choice. We love that it was made by Koseli, a small business that is transparent and honest with strong ethical principles.

Fair trade
Hello. I am Lynne Mold, the owner of Koseli Handmade.
I am a languages teacher who took early retirement. I have four children, the youngest of whom has Downs Syndrome, three children-in-law and four, soon to be five, grandchildren.
I love travelling and feel passionately that we all, wherever we live in the world, want the same things for our families and ourselves: to be safe, healthy and happy. I believe that by buying fairly traded goods we can do our small bit to help people achieve this.
I bought the Koseli wholesale business in 2017. It has been and continues to be, a very steep learning curve; but, as my husband said only the other day: ‘If you hadn’t done this you would have been climbing the walls with boredom’. Which is true.
Our commitment
We aim to be transparent and ethical in every part of our business, both abroad and here at home. We try to ensure that our artisans can rely on our business to bring them regular work in a comfortable environment. Those who want to, have the opportunity to develop and extend their skills. And they are all treated with respect and are paid in full and on time. Finally, we want to protect our environment by reducing, reusing and recycling wherever possible.
Our ethos
We believe that fair trade should include everyone we work with, both suppliers and customers, so we aim to be friendly and approachable and to send out all orders as quickly as we can, usually within two days, using eco-friendly packaging. As our products are all made by hand each piece is unique and may sometimes differ from what you might expect.
Our products
All our products are made by hand in small workshops or in private homes dotted around the Kathmandu valley in Nepal. They are designed either by the artisans in Nepal or by us. The felt items are made from 100% wool, which is imported from Australia and New Zealand and then felted and dyed in Kathmandu. The cotton fabric and yarns used to make our hats and bags, are imported from India and then made up in small workshops in Nepal.
Koseli is BAFTS Fair Trade network UK certified.
