Set of three woven jute baskets ideal for all sorts of storage such as pens, keys, small change and toys. This set is made from coloured jute inspired by the beautiful British coastline - ideal for brightening up and adding texture to any room.

Woven by hand in Bangladesh from natural jute, a renewable and sustainable material.

Jute is the second most important vegetable fibre after cotton and is a light, soft, shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse, strong threads.

Jute is a sustainable plant that is grown in regions of India and Bangladesh in a four month period just prior to the rainy season. It is fast growing and uses land that would otherwise be dormant at that time so increasing revenue for the farmers.

The interesting thing about jute is that it requires hardly any fertiliser or pesticide to grow.

Jute fibre is a totally natural biodegradable and compostable fibre, it is therefore an extremely attractive renewable resource for those who are at the forefront of the environmental movement and those who give top priority to environmental and ecological concerns.

The bowls are coloured using azo free dyes and feature a little fabric ReSpiin label stitched onto the rim.

Green Pioneer has developed this range with producer groups in Bangladesh. It has been exciting to see the developments in sustainable textiles over the last few years, and they felt it was time to bring together some of the most innovative materials under one brand.

Each material ReSpiin uses has a story to tell - whether that is about the way it grows or the journey it has been on.

ReSpiin is also about working directly with pioneering producers who add the most value possible to the materials they have to work with.

Green Pioneer reps have visited each of the producers and have seen first hand how they take pride in what they produce and in how they treat their workforce.
